So you haven’t heard from me in quite some time…let me catch you up.

Basically I don’t want to leave here and I know I’m going to come back one day because Vietnam is awesome and cool and amazing. I love that the people pursue friendships with you. I love the food. I love the liveliness. I love that it is evident God exists. We’ve made sweet friendships with the students and with the people we go to church with. I’ve made SO many memories and all of them are my favorite. I honestly wish I could express my time here in words, but I don’t think it’s possible so I’ll try to explain it as best as I can.

Everyday something happens and it’s just proof that God exists. I long for the comfort of home and so God gives me best friends that comfort me in sadness. Savannah really wanted to see monkeys ever since we started the trip and guess what? She saw families upon families of monkeys. One day Maddie was sitting expectantly with the Lord and every question she asked He answered right before her eyes.

This past month I found myself yearning to be a bride of Christ, so I put that into action by clearing my emotions and creating a space that is just for me and Him. I know that the body of Christ is His bride, and that the church as a whole is called Christ’s bride. But I’m talking about the fact that I can also be His bride individually as a woman. Being a daughter of the King is talked about a lot, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about being set apart as Jesus’s bride. I can be His bride as a woman who strives after God’s heart and as a woman that reflects Proverbs 31. I can be Christ’s bride walking down the aisle as He says “I am yours. You are mine” in the most intimate, loving way no human could comprehend. I can vow to Jesus that my body is His in the same way that a wife vows to her husband that her body is his. I can honor that by keeping my temple holy and using it to glorify Him rather than world.

I only have a week left here and its crazy to think I’m already halfway through the race! Tally ho for now and you’ll hear from me soon in Cainta, Philippines!
